The BISR House system

BISR’s House system provides a wonderful opportunity for students to develop skills and grow as individuals and as part of a team in a fun and enjoyable way.

Competitions are designed to support student growth allowing them to display creativity and ingenuity, with opportunities for students to take on leadership responsibilities.

Formal leadership roles include the election of Primary and Senior House Captains and House Leaders, with plenty of opportunities for students to lead and support the House Captains with the different House events.

Our House System promotes values of fair play, teamwork, citizenship, mutual responsibility, self-discipline, initiative, perseverance and resilience.

Our four houses are:

The house names come from four historical figures that highlight links between Britain and the Arabian Peninsula - Lady Anne Blunt, Charles Montagu Doughty, William Gifford Palgrave & Joseph Pitts.

Their names have been combined with the names of animals native to the Arabian desert.

Mr Lutfur Ali Whole School Head of House

Portrait of Mr Lutfur Ali, Whole School Head of House at BISRAs Whole School Head of House, I'm driven by a passion for fostering leadership and collaboration in students. I lead by example, and my team has successfully guided students to spearhead skills-based workshops, organise and deliver various House celebration events, and earn externally-accredited Leadership awards. These initiatives all cultivate a culture of peer-led development, particularly in areas like positive psychology.

At BISR, we empower our students to become innovative thinkers, compassionate leaders, and resilient global citizens who are prepared to make a positive impact on the world. We achieve this through a vibrant community structure, particularly the House System, which is central to fostering a deep sense of belonging, unity, and collaboration across all year groups.
