Now a second-year undergraduate student at ESSEC Business School in Paris, I am actively involved in consulting, entrepreneurship, and cultural initiatives. I support pro-bono social impact projects as a Research Executive and Consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting, lead partnerships at Genius ESSEC to foster entrepreneurship, and serve as President of ESSEC Liban, strengthening connections within the ESSEC community through engaging events. I also contribute to IMHI Traiteur, the Master’s in Hospitality Management association, by catering events within the business school and across Paris. Additionally, for the past two years, I have been a student representative, assisting my section during end-of-semester juries while ensuring student concerns are heard. I only joined BISR at the start of Sixth Form, and from the minute I arrived, I was welcomed into a community that challenged, supported, and shaped me in ways I will always be grateful for. The teachers were more than educators; they were mentors who guided and pushed me to think beyond the classroom. The friendships I built and the opportunities I had gave me experiences I never could have imagined having anywhere else. I owe so much to the people I met, the teachers who believed in me, and the community that surrounded me, all of which continue to inspire me today.” |

Prianka Hoque, student at BISR from 2003 to 2016.
Business Analyst at Deloitte
BISR was one of the best times of my life. I largely attribute my current successes to BISR for teaching me to appreciate and promote diversity and culture (with the vast majority of students coming from different backgrounds), for shaping me to be an all-rounder with strong time management skills (balancing school with numerous extracurricular activities) and for building a good work ethic from a young age though a challenging but fulfilling educational curriculum.

I am very grateful for my time at BISR and the incredible community I was a part of. After leaving BISR, I realised how unique the school is and how lucky I was to be surrounded by such inspirational, supportive and inclusive teachers and students. The opportunities the school provides through programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, model United Nations conferences and various sports and music events, gave me memories that I cherish and am happy I got the chance to participate in. I will continue to always look fondly on my memories I made at BISR and am very thankful to have completed most of my schooling there. I am proud to have broken into the field of tech consulting coming from a non-technical background in communications and business. I am very passionate about technology, innovation and people and have had the pleasure of working in roles that are at the intersection of these three things the past few years. In my current role at Deloitte, I lead workshops with clients in various industries (energy, retail, public sector) to understand their needs and pain points and help design solutions that align with their strategic objectives. I am proud of being a quick learner and getting recognised by my clients for coming up with creative ideas to their problems on numerous occasions. My job allows me to be the middle person between clients and technical teams, liaising with both to deliver successful technical implementations. There are also two initiatives at work that I am very grateful to be a part of. I lead the People & Culture team for the Toronto office for my practice and have had the pleasure of organising numerous events to foster a strong community and build team morale. I am also part of the Women Impact Network at Deloitte and have been lucky to organise various events connecting women with mentors at the firm and facilitating information sessions and events to build knowledge and networks. |

My journey at BISR was truly transformative. The multicultural environment, unwavering support from teachers, and diverse extracurricular opportunities—such as Model United Nations and sports like football and basketball—helped shape me into the doctor and woman I am today. It was a place that nurtured my confidence, honed my critical thinking skills, and provided the opportunities I needed to thrive, both academically and personally. |
