EMBRACING DIVERSITY, FOSTERING EQUITY AND CHAMPIONING INCLUSION

At BISR, we work continuously as a community to ensure that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is embedded in all we do. With more than 91 different nationalities represented across our student and staff population, there are many opportunities to learn from each other and grow.

STUDENT AND WIDER COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES

Throughout the year, we mark a whole host of events, designed to offer students and their families opportunities to expand their skills and inspire them to act with kindness. The myriad of events organised allows the students, staff and parents to foster empathy, forge relationships and build community. Here’s a very small selection of events from our calendar:

Saudi National Day, Spring Festival, Diwali, International Week, World Hijab Day, Black History Month, Saudi Founding Day, Saudi Flag day, Community Iftar, International Women’s Day, and much more.

CURRICULUM REVIEWS

To enable all BISR students to achieve their full potential, it is vitally important that they see themselves represented in the classroom through a broad range of topics and role models. We regularly review our Curriculum to ensure that every opportunity to make our schemes of work more inclusive is being maximised.

RECRUITMENT

We want to attract and retain the best staff. Our Human Resources department works hard to ensure DEI and fairness are involved throughout the hiring process and we are deeply committed to equal opportunities for all.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We are on a continuous journey of growth and improvement, investing in staff development through training programs, collaboration with the National College, and the establishment of a dedicated DEI team. Through our partnership with a DEI-specialist consultancy, we are strengthening our commitment to DEI.

BISR knows that an inclusive school mirrors the outside world, and it is our duty to prepare all students to live, work, and build meaningful connections with people of all backgrounds and experiences.
