Activities

The Activities programme provides an excellent opportunity for students to become well rounded individuals who have a passion beyond academics.

Activities change three times a year and are called ‘seasons’, thus allowing the children to sample many different areas of interest. Online registration is organised by the Activities Coordinator at each campus. All BISR teachers lead an activity thus ensuring that there is a very wide range of mind and innovation, active, communication, citizenship, creativity and performance.

Activities can take place before school, lunchtimes, after school and at the weekends. All students are encouraged to select at least one activity per week. This offers them a good opportunity to interact with children from other classes, work with other teachers and to have fun learning a new skill while doing something enjoyable.

There is also a lot of research that highlights the benefits of students partaking in activities beyond the classroom. There is a strong association between student involvement in activities and improved attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.
