Join Our School

Welcome to the British International School Riyadh and thank you for your interest in our oasis of learning in the desert. We invite you to explore our website and reach out to our admissions team if you have any queries about our school and the programmes offered. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have as you prepare to apply for a space at one of our seven campuses. At BISR we offer programmes aligned with the British curriculum, tailored to our international context, with equal emphasis on learning, wellbeing and enrichment. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment where children will flourish. Transitions from one school to another, or one country to another can feel daunting, but we will support you through that process, welcoming you into the BISR family.

Before applying to BISR you will need to consider where you will be living and which campus you are applying for as the application process varies slightly for each location.

  • Many families in Riyadh will apply for our Al Hamra campus, which is open to students from Foundation Stage 1 through to Year 13. The majority of our Al Hamra students will move to our Al Waha campus in the academic year 24/25.

  • Families who will be living on or close to the Diplomatic Quarter should apply for this campus, whilst we give priority to applicants who live within the DQ or in the closest compounds to the DQ, we welcome applicants from across Riyadh.

  • Only BAE Systems and MOD families or those resident on a BAE compound will be able to apply for places at our Al Sharq, Al Saqr , Taif and Tabuk Schools.

  • If you are interested in applying for your child to enter Sixth Form then please fill in the Registration of interest Sixth Form Pre Application on our application system.

We have waiting lists across most year groups so would encourage families to apply early to avoid disappointment.

Candidates with Additional Educational Needs (AEN) are accepted to the school on a case-by case basis. The needs of the child are considered alongside current levels of staffing, expertise and resources within the school. Support is tailored to the individual student, but in general ranges from individual education plans to supporting the curriculum in the classroom. We teach through small groups or by supporting in class depending on what is the most appropriate method for each student. The school will only admit those students for whom it can make adequate provision of support.

For 2024/25 Admissions then please take a look at the graphic below to ensure you are choosing the campus that is right for you. Please note that you can only apply for one campus.
