Salwa

Our Salwa Campus is home to 155 students from ages 3 to 11. It services the families on Salwa Village Compound who either work for BAE Systems or the MOD. Our youngest students follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage programme and students in Years 1 to 6 follow the English National curriculum, which is adapted and greatly enriched to reflect our local and International context.

The Salwa school is a purpose built single form entry school with large classroom spaces and subject specialist rooms for art, design technology, cooking, computing and music. The library is extensive and up-to-date with the latest authors. The school hall serves both sports lessons, assemblies, annual productions, fayres and children’s-art galleries. The school is wi-fi enabled and there are ipads at a 1:1 ratio from Y1 to Y6. The playground contains climbing frames, a pagoda, an eco garden and a number of reclaimed ‘loose-parts’ play pieces. There is a large grass sports field that is used to host football, rugby and running activities.

The school also has access to the facilities on the compound which include: a 20 metre swimming pool, auditorium, bowling alley, sports hall, supermarket, medical centre and outside leisure pools. All children from F1 to Y6 have swimming lessons each week. The school is able to access the local medical center for its service, support and advice.

The school is very well maintained and presented. The compound supports the development of the school as it embraces new pedagogy and further develops its environments for learning. Many of the classes are close to capacity and it is essential that any families that intend to come out, contact the school to ascertain at which campus the year groups have places.
