Diplomatic Quarter

Our newest campus, opened in September 2020,  is in the heart of the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ) in Riyadh, where low-rise buildings are set in an attractive urban landscape. Opening a third campus has allowed us to provide a greater number of school places to support the growing demand for a British International School education in Riyadh. We firmly believe that several smaller campuses best support the growth and development of children.

Our campus is in the heart of the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ) in Riyadh, where low-rise buildings are set in an attractive urban landscape. We firmly believe that our smaller campus best supports the growth and development of children.

The DQ Campus caters for children from ages 3-18, following the same curriculum as our other primary campuses: the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for the youngest children and the English National Curriculum (NC) for Years 1-6, adapted for our local and International Context. In Senior School, students follow the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), IGCSES  and our eldest children are offered the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme.

From August 2024, students who wish to study A Levels can move to our Al Waha Campus, and students from the Al Waha Campus can choose to transfer to the DQ Campus should they wish to study the IB, providing greater levels of choice for our families. From August 2024, vocational courses will also be on offer for our Post 16 students at Al Hamra.

The campus is a redevelopment of two adjacent buildings in the DQ.

Facilities in the Foundation and Primary areas include engaging outdoor play spaces, a modern open plan indoor facility for our EYFS programme, and 12 primary classrooms, along with 5 specialist rooms for art, design and food technology, and learning support. Additionally the school has a well-stocked library and large multi-purpose hall. Sports facilities include  a basketball court sized indoor gym, an outdoor AstroTurf, an indoor 25 metre swimming pool, and an outdoor basketball court. There is also ample outdoor space for children to play in. The entire campus is wi-fi enabled with bandwidth capability to support a full Bring Your Own Device ICT programme.

We work closely with members of the DQ community to create a number of partnerships to support our extra-curricular programme for this campus. Students on our DQ campus have full access to the BISR desert camp. A broad range of Activities are offered at our DQ campus, along with opportunities for Service Learning and Eco-school activities. Additionally, students are given the chance to participate in local and international trips.

High quality concept based learning, student well-being and co-curricular programmes underpin our Whole School philosophy.
