Student Services

Counselling

At BISR we attend to the emotional well-being of students in a variety of different ways. When worries and difficulties build up however, students may request some sessions with the School Counsellor.

The School Counsellor provides a full-time counselling service which has been running successfully since 2012 and has supported many students by helping them to talk about and explore their feelings in confidence.

The service is open to all students, who can access the service at any time throughout the school year.

Students may access the service in several ways:

  • self-referral
  • referral by their teachers
  • referral by parents/carers

The School Counsellor has an ‘open-door’ every break and lunch time where students are welcome to call in to discuss anything that is worrying them.

Parents who are concerned or worried about their children, or who would like some advice, are also welcome to make an appointment to see the Counsellor.
