This course builds on the foundations set previously from Primary School age. The emphasis is on students to refine their skill sets and continue to master rules and regulations of new games. The students will be engaged in a variety of individual and team sports and learn to apply all the knowledge, strategies and concepts they have learned during the preceding years. They will continue to learn how to apply health and fitness principles effectively through a variety of physical activities. Values of sportsmanship and fair play are integrated in the course content and participation in the ECA program and Sports Teams outside of the PE program are actively encouraged. There are opportunities for intra and inter school competitions through house events. Throughout the year the ISSLR (International Schools Sports League of Riyadh) tournaments provide excellent competition in a wide variety of sports at Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity level.
The school takes part in the U13 and U15 BSME (British Schools in the Middle East) Secondary Games, which is an annual competition with teams from schools throughout the Middle East.
The Secondary School Physical Education program ensures that all the students are given an international education; in that it aims to give pupils grounding in sports played all over the world. As many of our children will live abroad at some point in their lives, it is important they have knowledge of a variety of major sports for whichever country they visit.
